The International Maritime Rescue Federation (IMRF) is delighted to announce our latest International Mass Rescue Conference (G4), to be held on 11-13 June 2017 in Gothenburg, Sweden.
This is the fourth of the IMRF's international conferences on maritime mass rescue operations, known as the 'Gothenburg Series'. The conferences are hosted by the Swedish Sea Rescue Society.
Major incidents severely test the capabilities of the responding emergency services; even more so when rescue or relief efforts involve operations on the water. The 2010 and 2012 conferences in the Gothenburg series, and the 2011 World Maritime Rescue Congress in Shanghai, China, helped to highlight and address many of these challenges.
The 2014 conference (G3) focussed on the development and sharing of practical solutions to the previously identified problems, such as, integrating the preparation and planning efforts of all stakeholders, including industry, enhancing incident coordination and establishing supportive response systems, improving cohesion between all stakeholders to optimise response capability.
The G4 Conference and the MRO Subject-Matter Expert Course are sold out. But we will be posting reports, presentations, other documents and photos on this website soon! Watch this space!
